The North Shore National Salon of Photography – Rules
The North Shore Photographic Society will be exhibiting its sixteenth National Salon of Photography from 12 – 23 July, displaying a selection of award-winning entries from this year’s competition. The digital images show and prize giving will be 4th August.
Categories
The competition has eight categories:

| Open Colour | |
| Monochrome | |
| Close Up | This refers to close range and large-scale photography that reveals the fine detail or texture of the subject. This category is not restricted to the use of specialist “macro” lenses to capture these images. |
| Architecture | Images of any man-made building or structure that highlight color, light, texture or spatial qualities of the subject. |
| Digital | |
|---|---|
| Open Colour | |
| Monochrome | |
| Movement | The movement depicted can be either of the subject or created by the photographer. |
| Red | Any shade, any amount, any place. Just red. |
Prizes
The following awards will be given in each category:
- The prestigious Gold medal for the winners of each category plus Silver, Bronze, Honours, Highly Commended and Acceptance Awards.
- The PROGEAR Trophy will now be awarded to the best overall image chosen from the Gold awards.
