Emma and William McPherson Award 2008

The Emma and William McPherson Award goes each year to a club or individual who, in the opinion of the council, has done most to foster amateur photography in New Zealand over the past 12 months

The winner of this prestigious award for 2008 is well known for his mentoring of aspiring photographers and the training of new judges. Most recently he has addressed the challenges of those moving from film to digital, and has also given valuable assistance to newcomers to photography.

He has worked to address the training of a number of new and much younger judges, something that is very important for the ongoing well being of photographic clubs and societies in New Zealand.

In addition, he was recently a major participant in a training session designed to assist PSNZ Panel Judges in assessing the finer points of digital images.

The Photographic Society of New Zealand is happy to award the 2008 Emma and William McPherson Award to Alan Bilham APSNZ
