PSNZ Canon Bi-monthly Online Competition – Previous
2nd Round Winners for the PSNZ/Canon Online 2008
A total of 128 entries were received which is the most entries ever.
Congratulations to all the winners and to those who entered.
Thanks goes to the Judge for this round who was John Greenwood. His overall comments were
“There were a lot of excellent images in this round. Many of these could have been in the top ten but I have to make choices. I was looking for images with impact firstly, then subtlety. I guess when it all comes down to it, is my personal preference that results in the final line up.”
“The top image gained my preference for its originality. Second for shear impact and beauty, Third for the subtlety of the message to all dads. I could go on but need to keep this short. I also tried to ensure that personal preferences did not outweigh sound judgment on the photographic excellence of the finalists.”
“My condolences to those whose images were not in the final line up, but I cannot please all of you.”

1st Round Winners for the PSNZ/Canon Online 2008
A total of 122 entries were received which is the most entries ever – we still haven’t made 150, though. It was great to see many new names appearing on the entry list
Alistair McAuslan APSNZ. His overall comments were
“The images were all well presented and there was a wide variety of interest in subjects and styles. I was attracted by images that featured good lighting and strong composition to capture a mood or tell a ‘story’. The top images all had a vibrancy that comes from careful consideration of tonal range, colour and the use of light.”
